What do you prefer for your pup? An outdoor dog bed or a cozy cave dog bed?
While dogs need to feel warm and comfortable, the two types of beds have their own benefits.
An outdoor dog bed will give your pup the feeling of being outdoors and have an elevated position. Outdoor beds are easy to clean with its waterproof surface.
A cozy cave on the other hand is great for when it’s too cold. It is designed like a den or cave where your pup can snuggle and sleep in any position that they want without getting disturbed by dirt or debris on the surface.
We have different types of dog beds for your dogs.
Outdoor dog bed:
An outdoor dog bed is perfect for protecting your pet from the cold, and also from bugs and other animals. It is generally easier to clean and maintain than a furniture-style indoor bedding set. Outdoor beds are made to be easy to locate by pets - for example, with heavy-duty material that's brightly colored or comes in a fun pattern. Some outdoor dog beds are designed with a zip-on or removeable cover that can be easily removed and washed separately in the case of an accident or chew toy incident.
Dog cave bed:
A cozy cave dog bed can give your pet the feeling of being in a safe den, while keeping them warm and comfortable while they relax at home.
Faux fur dog bed:
A faux fur dog bed is a bit different from the traditional bed made of cotton, because it is usually less expensive then the cotton alternative and can be more easily laundered.
Faux fur is a type of fabric that imitates animal products like fur or wool. These fabrics are often used in clothing, and they’re also used for home décor fabrics like blankets, pillows and beds. The faux-fur material has many advantages over other types of materials. One of these advantages is that it is easy to clean if your pet soaks the faux-fur in water or spills food or drink on it.
The downside to a faux-fur dog bed is that it may not provide as much warmth as one made from wool or cotton.
Why do dogs scratch their beds?
Scratching their bed is a natural instinct for a dog. It is done to release the dog's natural scent to mark the area and to remove any parasites or skin flakes that may be in the fur.
Dogs also scratch their beds because they like the sound it produces, which releases endorphins in the process.
The most common reason why dogs scratch their beds is for comfort. Like humans, dogs need a place that offers them relief and a sense of security. They are used to scratching their beds and will continue doing so as long as they are provided with this comfort zone.
Why do dogs dig on beds and couches?
There are many reasons why dogs dig on their beds and couches. There are a few common causes including:
· Overheating: Dogs often dig on their beds and on the couch to regulate their body temperature. If they feel too hot, they will dig to cool off or try to get as close to the floor where it is cooler as possible.
· Overstimulation: Sometimes dogs can become overstimulated by new surroundings or new people, or even by a dog toy that just keeps playing around their feet all day. Digging allows them an outlet for some of these feelings and if they don't have anything else, this behavior is how they work through those feelings.
· Anxiety: Dogs might also choose to do this because it makes them feel more secure in a new situation either due to.
How to wash a dog bed?
Washing a dog bed is a necessary task to keep it in good condition.
In general, if the dog bed has removable cover, you should wash it in a washing machine with cold water using gentle detergent. If not, you can vacuum the dirt first before washing the whole thing with soap and water.
If there is any stubborn stains, you can use bleach to get rid of them.
It's important to remember that dogs love to sleep on clean surfaces. So if you don't clean the bed regularly, your pooch will soon find somewhere else to sleep like your sofa or carpets..
