But beware: in this variation, the hearing capacity of the cat can be altered on the side of the blue eye. The breeder must therefore prove that both parents have passed an audiometric test that did not reveal any problems. Otherwise, the beautiful coat of the Turkish Angora can come in any color; knowing that the Chocolate, Lilac, Fawn, and Point colors are not recognized in the breed standards. On the other hand, there are no restrictions regarding eye color.

Proper food for the Angora cat
For a healthy diet, the Cat Turkish Angora should be given high-quality food with a high portion of meat, as cats are carnivorous by nature. As the needs change during the life of a cat, it is advisable to give him a diet adapted to his age: there are foods for kittens, adults, or even older cats. Kittens need a high protein content to build muscle mass and reach adulthood weight. Kitten food, therefore, has a different composition than food for older cats. In case of specific health problems, switching to food suitable for urinary problems, kidney disease, digestive disorders, or obesity may also be advisable.
Angora kittens should receive at least four rations daily to avoid overloading their digestive system. Then, during the first year of life, the rations can be spread over two or three meals. Kitten food should be given approximately until the end of his first year. If you are considering a change in food (coming of age or for some other reason), do so very carefully. You will then have to mix a quantity of the new food with the usual food, gradually increasing the proportion of his new food so as not to confront the cat with an abrupt change.
Maintenance and care
The Angora cat takes care of his silky fur himself, so it is enough to brush him from time to time. This helps him remove loose hairs and also strengthens the bond between you and your companion. Once a week is suitable for regular brushing. However, during molting in spring and autumn, the Angora cat will need to be brushed more often.

The Cat Turkish Angora is not known to be very prone to disease, at least when he comes from serious breeding!
However, we can mention two diseases that mainly affect this breed of cats:
Autosomal recessive ataxia: Ataxias are characterized by disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Affected kittens cannot walk and die very young. Unfortunately, there is no treatment available yet.
However, the disease only affects kittens; adult cats cannot contract it. Therefore, for the moment, we do not yet fully understand the cause of this disease. Nevertheless, young cats can be tested to determine if they are affected by this severe condition.
A genetic defect in white cats: Cats with white fur, so not only Angora cats, often suffer from hearing loss, deafness, and balance disorders.
